7 Months!!

Zach is 7 months old today!  It must be exhausting to get that old.  He took a 3 hour nap today just to recover.  He is getting bigger everyday and is much more chatty, animated and definitely more mobile than ever before.  He isn't crawling yet but he has figured out that he can easily get from one place to another by rolling over.  It is kind of funny to watch.

This was our first attempt at his 7 month photo.  Fail!

This was much better.  Not sure who Zach is raising his fist to but sure he is collaborating with other children to take over the world.

On a side note......I realize that I didn't post any photos from Father's day.  We spent the afternoon/evening with Rich's parents and by the time we got home the blog wasn't on my mind.  Anyway, here are a few telling shots.

Three generations of La Vigne boys!

Zach and his dad.  Zach looks so happy to be having yet another photo taken.  Ha!

Grandpa and his two grandsons.  I'm not sure what happened just before the photo but it must have been pretty funny.  Zach seems pretty proud of himself and I think Conner is applauding the whole situation.

Rich gave his Father's day present a try after we got home.

Fair Weather Fun

I've had a few technical difficulties with my laptop so this post is a bit delayed but it should bring you all up to date on the latest here in our neck of the woods.

Now that the weather if finally consistently pretty nice here in Chicago we have been trying to get outside more and more.  Last weekend Rich had to work so it was just me and Z on our own and Zach was quite the trooper.  I finally got around to planting some flowers and Zach was patient enough to be my helper.   He didn't seem to mind too much when I wedged him between a flower pot and his diaper bag.

Anyone know how to detract squirrels from flower pots?  The flowers on our back deck are becoming an afternoon snack for the little critters.

Since Zach was so good while I did yard work, I took him for a walk to the park where he was introduced to the "underpants" swings.  I think he is going to be a swinging kid because he loved his first experience.  In the quick video below you probably here me more than him but you can catch a few of his giggles.  At one point he was laughing uncontrollably which was hillarious to watch.

And of course his dog, Oscar, is his new tag-a-long friend lately.  We take him on most of our outdoor adventures.

Zach still loves his wagon so a ride is becoming fairly routine on free evenings after work.  Now he has figured out just how to hold on to keep himself steady.

Yesterday I took Zach shopping with me and for the first time made him try a couple of things on.  He better get used to that.  It wasn't so bad....it was just hats.  We ended up coming home with the 2nd option.

Ok, gotta run.  In the time it has taken me to write this post Zach has managed to roll across the family room floor.  Yep, he's starting to become mobile.  Uh oh!!

Z's New Ride

I've been a little lax with posting lately so I'm going to try to briefly bring you up to speed.  My parents (Nana & Grandpa) came up to visit for the week of Memorial Day.  We spent the first couple of days in the house due to rainy weather and a cranky Zach but once the sun came out Zach seemed to feel much better and was ready to play.  Oddly enough, he decided to start waking up a couple of times per night again however once Nana and Grandpa headed back to NC Zach is back to sleeping through the night.  I think Nana and Grandpa were pinching him in the middle of the night! :)

Anyway, the two highlights of the visit for Zach were the new adventure of a wagon (yard sale finds are great!) and going out for some BIG drinks.  Don't worry....Zach didn't drink and drive, however he sure does love his new set of wheels!

Oh...WAIT....I almost forgot....ZACH ROLLED OVER!!  He has been about 90% of the way there however he could never figure out what to do with his arm and would just give up.  Grandpa was bound and determined to have Zach roll over while they were visiting so he put Zach through a rigorous week long training program and had him rolling over within the week.  I'm pretty sure Grandpa was not only counting how many times he rolled over but he also began timing him to see how long it took to accomplish the feat each time.  I guess you could say my dad is a bit competitive.

And finally, we had his 6 month check up.  This boy is 28.5 inches long and 21lbs 14oz.  I can't imagine how big he will be at a year!

I hope all of you reading this are doing well!
