Overserved

We went out for a few drinks tonight and I think we have officially turned into parents.  Rather than the normal beers we would consume we decided to hit the bar for a milkshake.  Here are the guys with their cold ones.

 I think Zach was overserved!

Growing Fast

Zach has proven to be quite the overachiever when it comes to growing.  This boy is getting big! 

Photos 1 & 2 - Just born weighing 6lbs-15oz and 20" long.

Now he is just over a month old and a whopping 9lbs-6oz and 23-1/2" long! Whoa!

Speaking of growing......... Dad might need a cold drink to keep up with this little guy.  We just tapped his Christmas gift to help ease the pains of fatherhood.  Cheers!

Trot Trot

Nana & Grandpa (my parents) have been visiting since Zach was born and arriving with them to Chicago was a mystery present. This gift has been concealed in a large box in our garage for the past few weeks and according to the stories we would overhear Nana telling Zach there was a miniature horse in our garage. Ha! As the weeks have gone by that "horse" has been a regular character in Nana's stories and even began to answer to the name of Trot Trot. I think Nana and Zach thought that name was pretty funny.

Trot Trot made his grand appearance/arrival on Christmas Eve for Zach and it turns out that Trot Trot is actually a PLANE!! Needless to say, Rich and I were pretty excited and know that Zach will be too once he understands just how cool this toy is. And I'm sure that even though a name like Trot Trot doesn't make too much sense for an airplane that name will stick.

Never Say Never

Ok....so I always said I would NEVER write a blog/become a blogger. Well, here I sit writing my first entry. No offense to all you bloggers out there but it just always seemed silly to me to sit there and type your thoughts and experiences out into cyberspace. I mean, really, who cares?! Apparently I do.

Over the years several of our friends have created blogs to post those oh so amusing photos of their kids or adventures or family vacations and while I love seeing my friends children grow and learn I just never thought I'd see the need or desire to have a blog of my own. Well, the day has come that I'm eating my words. I've been motivated/inspired by my friend Katie's blog. Her posts are never boring and constantly make me smile and even laugh out loud (I make no promises that my blog will be nearly as witty or amusing). Anyway, maybe blogging isn't so bad. I have the unfortunate experience of living far away from my family and several of my friends. While I enjoy living in the Chicago area, I hate how far I am from my loved ones and a blog seemed to be the easiest way to keep them all posted on our life with little Zach.

To all you family out there.......we love you and hope you enjoy the upcoming posts. To those friends that are kind enough to check this out and to anyone that has randomly stumbled upon this......bare with me. I'm giving this a whirl!
