5 months!

Zach and I shared a birthday today!  He is 5 months old and growing fast.  I, on the other hand, am just a few months older than him.  Let's see......I'm 384 months old today.  Wow!  That sounds old.  I think I'll keep my age in years.

Our printer is running out of ink so Z got a pink sign today.  Oh well.  I think he still liked it.

Easter Weekend

We had a full weekend here for Easter.   I had to coach a regatta in Ohio but Zach had quite the time while I was gone.  Fortunately I was back by Easter Sunday so we could enjoy the day.  It is getting late so I'm not going to write too much.  Pictures are worth 1000 words anyway, right?

Last week we welcomed the newest addition to the La Vigne family so over the weekend Zach went to meet his cousin Conner James.  Grandma and Grandpa are beaming!  I still can't believe that Zach was once as small as Conner.

On Easter Sunday we decided to not have Zach wear his typical t-shirt with jeans or sweatpants.  One of our friends asked if we dressed him like a bunny.  No!  Instead we dressed him like a little man!  Or some might say a little Beau Outlaw.  Thanks for the outfit Mary Ellen!

He cooperated for a few photos however I'm pretty sure he is thinking something along the lines of "touch my chocolate and you're dead" in the photo below.  He takes that after his dad.  The big Bunny brought the family some goodies but Zach ended up with a tuxedo bib.  He will be well dressed for any dining experience!

Laughter adds year's to your life, right?  Well, Rich and I gained a few more months this evening.  Zach is a riot!

Mr. Chatty

I'd like to introduce you to our son, Mr. Chatty.  He's become quite vocal in the past couple of weeks. Forgive the quality of the clip below.  I just took a quick video with my phone.

Mystery Package

Since Zach was born we have received several packages addressed directly to Zach.  Typically they are filled with cute outfits, blankets, or even a stuffed animal or toy.  This week we received the strangest package yet.  It was addressed to Zach and appeared to have been ordered from Nordstrom's.  We of course thought someone must be sending Zach a gift however when we opened the box we were quite surprised to find these...........

I wish I had taken a picture of the actual box but I pulled this from the Nordstrom website.  This is the exact image of what was in the box.  Yep.  That's right.  Zach received a pair of sandals that appeared to be designed for a 6 or 7 year old girl.  What?!  Not only did we receive a very odd item but there was no information regarding who sent it or what the person that sent us was trying to tell us.  Needless to say after a few minutes on the phone with customer service we found out the purchaser was a person Rich knows through work.  Turns out their last purchase from Nordstroms had been for Zach and they forgot to change the shipping address on their order so we received their daughter's summer shoes.

Ha!  At least this gave us a laugh.  Otherwise I fear some mystery person was trying to imply that "drag" is in Zach's future.  That or he is going to be a gladiator.  I'm going to stick with the gladiator theory for now.

Travels, Daycare, and Sunshine

Whew!  It has been a while since I've had time to update the blog.  Zach and I traveled to NC/SC so that I could coach my girls and he could spend some time with Nana and Grandpa.  The trip was good however I don't have many photos from that time.  I was busy spending my days on the water in the chilly wet weather.  Yuck!  Our race at the end of the training week even got called off early due to wind.  The wind was so harsh that boats where sinking from the water they were taking on from the waves.  Luckily my team made it back to the dock safely (but very wet).

Zach (Rich and myself) took a huge step last week.  Zach has offically enrolled in daycare.  I was gone for business when Rich had to go through the first dropoff with Zach.  It was probably best that way.  Zach seems to enjoy the other children and his teachers and all the teachers rave about him when we are there to drop him off or pick him up.   I don't love the idea of leaving Zach behind everyday but I'm happy that he seems to enjoy the interaction.

Over the weekend we had some amazing weather here in Chicago.  We took advantage and took Zach for a walk in the stroller, we gave cereal another try and spent a Sunday playing in the yard.  Zach had his first full day of fresh air and I think he the sun drained his energy.  He actually slept through the night!!

 

Oh....and one last thing.....Zach had his 4 month check-up and he is enormous!  Zach weighs 18lbs-6oz and is 27.6 inches long.  A woman that saw us a the airport actually thought he was twice his age.  Eek!
